Fakih IVF Abu Dhabi

There are moments in a fertility journey when what you need most is not more information, but a sense that you are moving in the right direction. Choosing a clinic is one of those moments. It helps to know the facts, to understand what each option brings, and then to trust yourself to make the decision that feels right for your situation.

Fakih IVF is one of the most recognised fertility names in the UAE, and has been treating patients in Abu Dhabi since 2013. Below is what we know about its Abu Dhabi clinics, presented without endorsement or ranking.

Overview

Fakih IVF opened its first Abu Dhabi clinic in April 2013, two years after its Dubai centre. The network was founded by Dr. Michael Fakih, a reproductive endocrinologist whose IVF career began in 1987.

Since February 2025, Fakih IVF has been wholly owned by Blue Ocean Health, Dr. Fakih's group, after NMC Healthcare agreed to sell its 65% stake. The First IVF brand, which had a clinic in Abu Dhabi, now sits within the Fakih IVF network. See our First IVF page for details.

In a March 2026 report on the new Khalifa City branch, Gulf Today said that more than 35,000 families have welcomed a baby through Fakih IVF. This is the clinic's own figure, and we have not seen independent data behind it.

Location and Access

Fakih IVF lists these Abu Dhabi clinics:

• Abu Dhabi (main clinic): Street 11, Hazaa Bin Zayed The First Street, opposite Sheikh Khalifa Medical City
• Khalifa City: Villa 111, Al Fursan Street. Gulf Today reported its opening in March 2026.
• First IVF Abu Dhabi: listed as a location on Fakih IVF's website

The Hazaa Bin Zayed Street clinic is on Abu Dhabi Island. The Khalifa City branch suits people living off the island, in the Khalifa City and Mohammed Bin Zayed City areas. Frequent monitoring visits are part of an IVF cycle, so choose the site that is easiest for you to reach.

Treatments Offered

Fakih IVF lists a broad range of fertility treatments:

• IVF (In Vitro Fertilisation) and ICSI (Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection)
• IUI (Intrauterine Insemination)
• Natural Cycle IVF and Mini IVF
• Family Balancing (gender selection) using Comprehensive Chromosomal Screening (CCS)
• PGD / PGT for hereditary diseases, including HLA matching
• Egg and Sperm Freezing (Fertility Preservation)
• Male Infertility treatments, including micro-TESE and TESA

What Makes This Clinic Different

The clinic's main differentiator is its in-house genetics laboratory. Many clinics send samples to outside labs. Fakih IVF says it carries out genetic screening in-house, which can mean faster results and direct oversight. If you need preimplantation genetic testing for a hereditary condition, ask how long results take and who interprets them.

For Abu Dhabi residents, the clinic's published Thiqa payment scheme is a practical point in its favour (see below). Its multi-emirate network also helps if you split your time between Abu Dhabi and Dubai.

According to Forbes Middle East, the group was recognised under the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi's JAWDA Pay for Quality Program in January 2026.

Success Rates

Fakih IVF does not publish specific success rate figures. Its success-rates page describes its results in general terms only. Older reports quoted a "70% pregnancy rate", but we could not find this figure on the clinic's current website, so we no longer include it.

Cost Indication

Fakih IVF does not publish standard IVF prices for its Abu Dhabi clinics. Pricing is on request. The only prices on its website, as of October 2026, are storage renewal packages: AED 2,625 for egg or embryo freezing renewal and AED 2,100 for sperm freezing renewal. Ask what period each renewal covers. Costs vary with your diagnosis, treatment protocol and any extras such as ICSI, genetic testing or embryo freezing.

Ask for a full breakdown that includes medications, monitoring appointments, the procedure itself and any laboratory fees. If you hold Thiqa, ask which costs are covered and which need pre-authorisation.

Insurance and Thiqa Coverage

Fakih IVF publishes a payment scheme for Thiqa cardholders. As of October 2026, its website says this covers up to three full IVF cycles per year, plus IUI and PGD for single gene disorders. It also covers stimulation medication with no co-pay and related OB/GYN procedures such as hysteroscopy and laparoscopy. Coverage still depends on Daman's rules and pre-approval.

Fakih IVF notes that coverage of any infertility treatment is subject to prior approval from your insurer. PGD for family balancing (gender selection) is not covered.

Under Daman's current guideline (November 2025), Thiqa covers up to six egg retrievals and three embryo-transfer cycles per patient per year, generally for women aged 18 to 47, with pre-authorisation. Accreditations

• Licensed by the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi (DOH), as all Abu Dhabi healthcare facilities must be
• ISO 9001 quality management certification. Fakih IVF Abu Dhabi announced ISO 9001:2015 certification in 2016, and the certification logo appears on its website.
• JCI: In December 2025, Khaleej Times reported that First IVF's Abu Dhabi and Dubai clinics, now part of the Fakih IVF network, gained JCI accreditation. We could not confirm JCI status for each Fakih IVF Abu Dhabi site, so ask about the clinic you will attend.

Things to Consider

• Which site: Fakih IVF now runs more than one clinic in Abu Dhabi. Check where your monitoring scans, egg collection and embryo transfer will take place.
• Network benefits: A multi-emirate network gives flexibility if you travel between Abu Dhabi and Dubai. Ask how records and stored samples are shared between branches.
• Thiqa: The published Thiqa scheme is generous, but individual coverage depends on Daman's rules and pre-approval. Confirm the details before you start.
